Gerry Mallon Chief Executive

Gerry has been Chief Executive of Tesco Bank since August 2018 and is a member of the Tesco PLC Executive Committee.

Prior to joining Tesco, Gerry has held a number of leadership roles in financial services. Most recently he served as Chief Executive Officer of Ulster Bank Ireland.

Before joining Ulster Bank, Gerry served as Chief Executive Officer of Danske Bank UK (formerly Northern Bank) for eight years, successfully leading the organisation in the aftermath of the financial crisis. Earlier in his career, Gerry also held roles at Bank of Ireland, McKinsey & Co., and the UK Civil Service.

Outside of financial services, Gerry served as Pro-Chancellor and Chair of Council at the University of Ulster and President of the Institute of Banking in Ireland, and recently completed a six year term as Chairman of the Irish Football Association.

Gerry holds an Economics degree from Cambridge University and received his MBA from Ulster Business School.

Jacqui Mallin People Director

Jacqui is the Colleague Experience Director at Tesco Bank and a member of the Tesco Bank Executive Committee. Jacqui has extensive Leadership experience and has spent her career working across a number of industries, including General Insurance, Life and Pensions, Telecoms and Banking.

Jacqui spent five years at Aegon, a Scottish based Life and Pensions Business, where she was accountable for leading HR Operations while also leading the HR Transformation programme. Jacqui then moved on to take up a broader leadership role at Standard Life, leading the group people operations, while also leading a multi-million pound award winning group people transformation programme. While at Standard Life, Jacqui was awarded HR Director of the Year at the HR Network Awards in 2013 and also received the Customer Excellence Award from Oracle for the programme's Return on Investment.

Prior to joining Tesco Bank in 2017, Jacqui led the people and transformation programme at the market-leading telecoms provider, Three UK.

Declan Hourican Chief Financial Officer

Declan is the Chief Financial Officer and Interim Director, Insurance. He joined Tesco Bank in October 2016 and has over 18 years' experience in the financial services industry with RBS and Andersen.

Before joining Tesco Bank, Declan was the Chief Finance & Administrative Officer within the Royal Bank of Scotland's Restructuring Division (2012–2016). Declan held a range of roles with RBS from 2002–2012 including CFO for the Global Restructuring Group, CFO for the Non-Core Division and FD roles with NatWest, Business Banking and RBS Insurance. ​

Declan is a graduate of University College Dublin and the Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland. ​

David Bowerman Chief Operating Officer

David joined Tesco Bank as its Chief Operating Officer in April 2019, and is a member of the Tesco Bank Executive Committee

Before joining Tesco Bank, David was Vice Chairman and Head of Business Services at Citizen's Bank in the United States of America, where David was responsible for all aspects of the Bank's technology, operations including customer service, security, procurement and property. Earlier in his career David held a number of roles covering operations, retail, and commercial banking at Royal Bank of Scotland and NatWest.

Michael Mustard Legal Director

Michael Mustard was appointed Company Secretary to the Board in May 2014.

He joined Tesco bank as Legal Director in April 2014 from Citi where he was a senior lawyer in the EMEA Consumer business. Michael was previously a lawyer at Allen & Overy LLP, worked in private equity and is a qualified as a chartered accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Richard Henderson Chief Risk Officer

Richard joined Tesco Bank in June 2009 and held the roles of Audit Director, Finance Director (Banking) and Financial & Credit Risk Director before becoming Chief Risk Officer in January 2017.

Prior to joining Tesco Bank, Richard’s previous role was Director in the Chief Executive’s Office, RBS UK. Before that, Richard held roles in RBS Group Internal Audit, latterly as the Audit Partner for RBS UK. Prior to RBS, Richard worked for Group Internal Audit at Barclays PLC after beginning his career in external audit at PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

Richard is a Chartered Accountant and has the AMCT Diploma in Treasury. He has an MBA from the University of Edinburgh and a degree in Economics and Econometrics from the University of Nottingham.​

Sigga Sigurdardottir Chief Customer Officer

Sigga joined Tesco Bank as its Chief Customer Officer in November 2019.  Before joining Tesco Bank, Sigga led a digital and cultural change across Santander UK as its Chief Customer and Innovation Officer. This included pioneering and partnering with the start-up, digital and fintech community to lead efforts to design a customer-centric bank of the future through mobile-first business models. Sigga spent 14 years working for American Express in Australia, Singapore, London and NYC, leading digital transformation and change across multiple lines of business and geographies.

She holds a doctorate in leadership and innovation from Manchester Business School, an MBA from IESE Business School as well as a BS degree in Marketing from the University of South Carolina.
