Tesco Bank offers a little help with holiday planning
5 January 2017
Research by Lightspeed/Mintel has found that Brits are most likely to plan a holiday throughout January or February1, but over 60% fail to arrange travel insurance until the last minute. To help with every aspect of holiday planning, Tesco Bank is offering Clubcard customers 50% off its annual travel insurance policies purchased online. To get this discount, all customers need to do is obtain a quote by the 28th February 2017 and buy the policy within 14 days. Discount is subject to minimum premium.2
Despite the seasonal increase in holiday planning and booking, research has found that travel insurance is commonly forgotten about until the last minute. Over 60% of people who held travel insurance on their last holiday abroad arranged it within a month of departure. 17% arranged it within a week of leaving and 2% purchased it as late as the day of their departure.3 With the average holiday cancellation costs of £800, this could mean a major financial loss if an unexpected illness or incident stopped you from getting away.4
David McCreadie, Managing Director, Tesco Bank said:
“With the dark days and cold weather upon us, it’s nice to have a holiday to look forward to. We know our customers spend a lot of time planning their holidays, yet many don’t consider travel insurance until the last minute. By having travel insurance in place, it can provide peace of mind should the unexpected happen. As customers plan and book their holidays, this offer could allow their money to go that bit further and is just another little help from us.”
