LGBT+ Inclusion

We’re committed to being an employer that’s inclusive and open to all, whatever your sexuality or gender. So we’re proud to be a member of the Open for Business Coalition as part of Tesco Group. That means we don’t just support LGBT+ people within our business – as part of a global brand, we also use our position to improve the lives of LGBT+ people internationally, while demonstrating the business case of LGBT+ inclusion.

In recent years, we’ve been recognised for our efforts. We were delighted to win LGBT+ Employer of the Year at the Scottish ICON Awards in 2015, and to receive a Special Recognition award from Stonewall Scotland in 2016 for partnering with NHS Scotland to support their LGBT+ Inclusion journey.

With more than 2,500 members across the whole Tesco Group, our Out at Tesco network is one of the biggest of its kind in Europe. But it isn’t just big – it’s also award winning, having been named as Colleague Network of the Year 2017 by Stonewall Scotland and Colleague Network of the Year by Inclusive Networks in 2016.

The network is there for you whenever you need it, with mentoring, career development advice and support. It also plays an important role in making sure we meet LGBT+ customers’ needs, and in working across the LGBT+ community to support a range of different initiatives.

Open for Business

Open for Business Coalition through our parent Tesco Group; to support LGBT+ people globally, to use our position as a global brand to help improve the lives of LGBT+ people internationally and to demonstrate the business and economic case of LGBT+ inclusion.


Pride events are an important part of our calendar. We don’t just sponsor – we take part. As well as supporting a range of events across the country, we were joined by over 1,000 colleagues at London Pride, both as part of the parade and as volunteers along the route
